Tavira renews award for "Sports-Friendly Municipality"

Tavira has once again been recognized with the 2025 “Sports-Friendly Municipality” award, a distinction that aims to highlight the excellence of the country's Municipal Councils in this area.

This recognition is awarded annually and aims to highlight the quality of local authority interventions, reinforcing the positive impact that programs and activities have on local communities.

The presentation of this award highlights the importance of sport as a fundamental pillar for social cohesion, sustainable development and the quality of life of the population.

This initiative aims not only to recognize the work carried out, but also to inspire other municipalities to continue investing in this area, which is crucial for the well-being of communities and the valorization of their local resources.

The "Municipality Friendly to Sports 2025" award is promoted by EQ Cidade Social, Unipessoal, Lda. (an entity that promotes national programs for sharing good practices, training and recognition within the scope of municipal management), with Tavira City Council being one of the 27 founding entities.
